Warranty
At Home Elements, we are committed to providing high-quality products and reliable warranty coverage. This warranty applies to products used for normal residential purposes only.
The warranty period starts from the date of purchase and varies depending on the product component.
Warranty Coverage
Sofas
Frame (5 Years)
Covers defects in timber or steel framing and workmanship.
Foam (2 Years)
Covers significant structural or performance failure of foam.
Softening within the first six months is considered normal and is not a defect. Cushion materials will naturally conform to the user over time. Regular rotation is recommended.
Fabric (1 Year)
Covers manufacturing defects only.
Excludes wear, wrinkling, fading, pilling, and damage caused by cleaning methods or consumer-applied treatments.
Leather (2 Years)
Covers manufacturing defects only.
Natural creasing, stretching, and softening are inherent characteristics and are not defects. Damage caused by dyes, chemicals, or improper care is excluded.
All Other Products
1-Year Warranty
Covers defects in materials and workmanship, including structural failures and faulty construction.
Natural Stone Products (Marble & Travertine)
Natural stone products are covered under the 1-year warranty for manufacturing defects only.
However, the following are not considered defects:
- Natural variations in colour, veining, tone, and texture
- Natural pores, holes, or surface irregularities (especially in travertine)
- Products finished with semi-filled travertine, where some pores are intentionally visible
- Minor surface markings inherent to natural stone
Natural stone is a fragile material by nature and may be susceptible to chipping, cracking, or staining if subjected to impact, improper use, or lack of maintenance.
The following are not covered under warranty:
- Chips, cracks, or breakage caused by impact or external force
- Staining, etching, or marks from spills or improper cleaning
- Damage caused by excessive weight, pressure, or misuse
- Any damage resulting from failure to follow care instructions
No Warranty Coverage
- Clearance products are sold as-is and are not covered under warranty.
- This warranty does not apply to products used for commercial purposes, including but not limited to:
- Home staging
- Short-term rentals (e.g. Airbnb)
- Display homes or any income-generating use
Any wear, damage, or deterioration resulting from such use is excluded.
Warranty Service
Minor Defects
We will repair the product within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 3 months).
If repair is not possible, we may offer a replacement. If a replacement is unavailable, a refund or store credit may be issued at our discretion.
Major Defects
Where a product has a major fault that cannot be repaired, the customer may choose a replacement or refund, in accordance with applicable consumer laws.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:

Normal Wear and Tear
Including scratches, fading, pilling, cushion softening, and natural ageing -
Damage from Improper Use or Abuse
Including impact damage, stains, burns, cuts, or misuse -
Improper Assembly, Cleaning, or Maintenance
Including use of harsh chemicals or failure to follow care instructions -
Environmental Damage
Including exposure to excessive moisture, temperature changes, or direct sunlight
Consumer Guarantees Act (New Zealand)
Nothing in this warranty is intended to limit or exclude your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, where applicable.
However, where products are supplied for business, commercial, or trade purposes, the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act may not apply.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
To initiate a claim, please provide:
- Proof of purchase
- Description of the issue
- Photographic evidence (where applicable)
